Welcome!

Welcome to Effective Youth Ministry Press!

This site is designed to help youth ministers run youth ministries dedicated to effective discipleship and evangelism. It promotes a style of youth ministry that avoids 'punching the air' but rather hits the target. That is, we want to help churches fulfill the goal of raising up a generation of young people who take Jesus Christ seriously and, who grow in their faith and knowledge of him long after they are young. The question with youth ministry is always… how do we accomplish this in our practice? We will unpack this as we go.

There are several FREE RESOURCES that will help you in your youth ministry. Keep watching for new additions to this section. We also have printed resources for sale that have been created out of years of experience. For updates on new resources, sign up to receive our e-newsletter by filling in the contact page.

MARCH 17, 2012: Preparing the Next Generation for Leadership

Speaker: Ken Moser, Professor of Youth Ministry at Briercrest College & Seminary

Rumour has it that young adults are leaving the church in droves. This charge is only partially true. Some churches are, in fact, losing many, if not all, youth, while other churches seem to be full of this age-group. What can and should be done to ensure the continuance and, indeed, the growth of our congregations into the 21st century and beyond?

This Koinos seminar will attempt to answer this question.

Just showing up vs. godliness in action

What happens when you place godly expectations on your young people? People respond differently and it is not always popular but the results can be amazing.

Thoughts on Discipleship Part 1: Don’t hang with kids, equip them to follow.

Making disciples is a command from Jesus. We all tend to agree that it is important but we seemed to have dropped the ball when it comes to helping converts actually follow the one they have been converted to. Here is some wisdom gleaned from the book by BIll Hull: The Complete Book of Discipleship.

The Well is dry, the pool is gone.

Our culture is no longer dominated by Christianity. The goodwill we once received from society is no longer there. The end result is that there is less support for the Christian youth event therefore we must re-think our view of "success".
